What is Intercession?
Centennial Intercession is a new credit recovery option for students who failed a class with a final grade of 65-69 during the 2013-2014 school year.
How does it work?
Only students with a final grade of 65-69 can participate. NO EXCEPTIONS! The student will be enrolled in 2 extra days of class (8 hours total) after school has ended and will retake the final exam for the course. Attendance is mandatory. The student needs to earn a minimum score of at least 70% on the final exam retake. If the student is successful, then the final grade for the course will be replaced with a passing grade of a 70, earning credit for the course.
Which classes will be available?
Semesters 1 and 2 will be offered in the following core courses: |
9th Lit, 10th Lit, 11th Lit, World Lit, MultiCult Lit |
CCGPS Algebra*, CCGPS Geometry*, GPS Adv Algebra* |
Biology, Phys Science, Earth Systems, Chemistry |
World History, US History, Amer Govt, Econ |
*All Math courses will be with a Face to Face teacher. All other courses will be taken online.
When will it take place?

Can a student take a class during both sessions A and B?
Yes. A student can take 1 class during session A and 1 class during session B as long as they meet the 65-69 final grade criteria.
Can a student participate in both Intercession and Fulton County summer school?
Yes. Intercession will end 1 week before the Fulton County summer session begins (June 11)
How much does Intercession cost?
There is no cost—it is free!
How does a student sign up?
Fill out a registration form and turn it in to Mr Kirk in Room J-02. The final deadline to register is Friday, May 23rd at 4:00. NO EXCEPTIONS!
