FULTON COUNTY VIRTUAL SCHOOL (FVS)

Description: Link to Fulton Virtual School’s Website  Online courses have specific beginning and ending dates which align with the school calendar and curriculum. Class has a specific syllabus the student needs to follow and LOG IN to work every day. The virtual teacher monitors and evaluates the student’s classwork remotely and provides support upon student request. Download the REQUIRED Online Course Request Contract and turn it into your school counselor before registering to take the class online. 

Criteria: None

Cost: $225 per .5 credit ($180 per .5 credit for students eligible for free/reduced lunch); if taken as a scheduled course during the school day = free.

 

GA VIRTUAL SCHOOL (GAVS)

The virtual teacher monitors and evaluates the student’s classwork remotely and provides support upon student request. Criteria: None

Cost:  $250 per .5 credit; if taken as a scheduled course during the school day =free.

 

Georgia Virtual Credit Recovery (GVCR)

Description: Online course students work on independently on their own time and complete at their own pace. Credit Recovery classes are only offered during the regular school year and are taken in addition to the 6 classes in the student’s regular schedule. Classes can be worked on from anywhere the internet is available.

Criteria: Student must have already attempted and failed a course

Cost: Free

How to Register: See your counselor or Ms. Jiram in the counseling office for a form.  OR  Download a GVCR Request form and turn it in to your school counselor.

FULTON COUNTY SUMMER SCHOOL

Description:  Link to Fulton Summer School Website  Opportunity to accelerate or recover credits during summer semester. The summer sessions are condensed versions of the course content provided during the school year. Face to face and virtual class options are offered; transportation to hosting school is provided.

Criteria: Most face-to-face classes limited to students who have already attempted and failed a course

Cost: First Time Course Takers: $225 per .5 credit ($180 per .5 credit for students eligible for free/reduced lunch).   Students retaking a course: FREE

CENTENNIAL INTERCESSION

Description: Option for students who fail a class with a final grade of 65-69 during the current school year. Student will be enrolled in 2 extra days of class (8 hours total) after the semester has ended and will retake the final exam for the course. If the student earns a 70% or higher on the final exam retake, then the final grade will be replaced with a passing grade of a 70.

Criteria: Only students with a final semester grade of 65-69 are eligible. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Retaking Class at Centennial

Description: Student takes course for a second time as one of the 6 classes in their regular school day schedule. The student is enrolled in the class for the entire semester.

Criteria: There must be room in the student’s schedule. This option could delay graduation date if student fails several classes.

Cost: Free

How to Register: Student requests class(es) be added to their schedule with their school counselor
